Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Tiger Hi-Clean Board and common gypsum board?
Tiger Hi-Clean Board is a gypsum board manufactured by mixing formaldehyde decomposing agent into conventional gypsum board to absorb formaldehyde in air and reduce formaldehyde concentration.
How long will the product continue to be effective?
It may completely vary depending on the amount of formaldehyde generated in the room and how large the surface area of the Tiger Hi-Clean Board is, but if you use it for all walls and ceiling, according to the calculation in our tests, the effect may be sustained for more than 5 years.
Can F ☆☆☆☆ grade building materials still cause Sick Building Syndrome?
Even with F☆☆☆☆ grade building materials, in some products, the amount of emission is not zero, and as the temperature rises, there are also building materials that significantly emit formaldehyde, so it is still possible for such material to cause Sick Building Syndrome.
Will the absorbed formaldehyde be re-emitted at a later time?
As absorbed formaldehyde turns into another stable substance inside the Hi-Clean Board, it will not come out again.
Won’t performance degrade if the product is in inventory for a long period of time?
Formaldehyde decomposing agent is a stable substance so there is no degradation in performance even if it is in inventory for a long time.
Is other performance the same as conventional gypsum board?
Excellent performance found in gypsum board, such as strength, noncombustibility, dimensional stability, ease of construction, etc., will still be the same.
Is it effective for substances other than formaldehyde?
Although Tiger Hi-Clean Board has some effect on acetaldehyde, we recommend Tiger Hi-Clean Board Ace that has even higher performance for acetaldehyde countermeasure.
If rock wool based decorated sound absorption board is used as base material ,would it work?
Rock wool based decorative sound absorption board is breathable, so it is considered to be effective enough.
Will it be still effective even if covered with vinyl cloth?
When the formaldehyde concentration in the space behind the wall and ceiling becomes high, formaldehyde may enter the room through the vinyl cloth, but this can be prevented and the formaldehyde concentration in the room can be reduced. It can also be still effective when formaldehyde diffused into the indoor air from furniture etc. goes into the space behind the wall or ceiling. However, since the effectiveness of absorbing directly through vinyl cloth is low, we recommend to apply finishing material that has good breathability.
