Fire partition
The purpose of fire partition is to enclose fires occurred mainly in large-scale buildings into compartments, which consists of specific fire protection structures such as walls, floors and fire doors constructed to be fire resistant (or quasi fire resistant), and classified into the following three categories:
-
Areal compartment
In case of fire resistant (or quasi fire resistant) structure (wall) that prevents the expansion of the fire in the horizontal direction, the floor area of the compartment shall be at least under 1,500m2 -
Vertical shaft compartment
Prevents fire from spreading vertically (eg elevator, pipe space, stairwell etc.) -
Compartment for multipurpose space
In order to ensure the safety of the space used for different purposes such as theaters and department stores, spaces are partitioned from each other.
